Entella
Details: As already mentioned, this wreck belonged to the ships that on 10th April met their destiny. But unlike its two companions, the captain had the time and the cold blood to drive the ship close to the coast and set it on the rocks. With this he avoided the sinking and at least saved the lives of his crew. Subsequently it was hit and sunken by the “Safari”. Since it represented an obstacle for the navigation it was later further destroyed through further explosions, unfortunately for the divers. From the originally 95 m length today are 20 m still visible. Due to its low depth, it is possible with a calm sea, to see the wreck also during snorkeling trips. The wreck is surrounded by an enormous field of coal which was the cargo of the Entella. The particularity of this dive is the rich marine life: octopuses, congers, morays, squids, crabs, rockfish, pandoras and a lot more are not unusual. During night dives we often meet our “heraldic” animal the common stingray. It is an exceptional dive for photography.. |
